My name is Paula Alshouse of Centralia, Missouri and I am the proud owner of Khalfani Kennels. I am a die-hard animal lover and a Missouri farm girl. I grew up with setters and terriers which may explain my affinity for dogs with a hunting instinct and an attitude! My first ridgeback, CH. Crosswicks Kalahari Storm, was acquired in 1991 and I have had ridgebacks ever since. I believe the ridgeback is the perfect balance of intelligence, athleticism, and charm. Khalfani Kennels was started in 2005 so I could share my love of ridgebacks with others. The Rhodesian Ridgeback Standard states” The Ridgeback represents a strong, muscular, and active dog, symmetrical and balanced in outline.” My goal is to produce dogs according to this standard with a special emphasis on health and function. My dogs are my kids. Obtaining a ridgeback from me will be the start of what I hope is a ridgeback family relationship. I am recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit and am a member of The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS) and former member of Health & Genetics RRCUS committee.
